Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo, has invited candidates of Lagos origin who sat for 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) and picked the institution as their first choice for Indigeneship/Indigeneity Verification Exercise for the 2026/2027 academic session.
In a statement by the institution, signed by Registrar and Secretary to Council, Emmanuel A. FANU, MANUPA, MNIM, MCIPM, FCAI, such candidates must score a minimum of 195 in the just concluded UTME.
The exercise which commences Monday, 27th April 2026 will close on Friday, 22nd May 2026.
While stating that the exercise does not guarantee or serve as proof of admission into the Lagos State University, the institution added that a portal will be opened for payment and registration for the exercise on Monday, 27th April 2026.

LASU also released the screening exercise schedule as follows:
Phase 1: Monday, 27th April 2026 –Thursday, 30th April 2026
Phase 2: Monday, 4th May 2026 – Thursday, 7th May 2026
Phase 3: Monday, 11th May 2026 – Thursday, 14th May 2026
Phase 4: Monday, 18th May 2026 – Friday, 22nd May 2026

While further emphasising that ONLY Candidates who are of Lagos State Origin are eligible for this exercise, LASU also stated that such are expected to be CLEARED by the Independent Indigeneship Verification Committee (IIVC) BEFORE being considered for admission.
According to the institution, interview will hold at the following venues for prospective candidates from the five Divisions in the state:
Ikeja Division: New TETFund Building, Faculty of Arts
Badagry Division: New TETFund Building, Faculty of Arts
Ikorodu Division: Law Clinic, Faculty of Law
Lagos Division: International Business Class, MBA Building
Epe Division: School of Transport and Logistics

Meanwhile, the institution’s authorities also urged old applicants that have not been offered admission to only revalidate their verification online, while Direct Entry candidates will have to appear physically for the exercise.
“Old applicants for 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 Academic Sessions that have not been offered admission will only revalidate their indigeneship Clearance Certificates online at www.lasu.edu.ng with payment.
“All Direct Entry applicants who are of Lagos State origin are to participate in this Indigeneship Verification exercise before they can be considered for admission.”
The institution warned candidates against paying to any individual or any other aside from the one specified for the exercise.
